Lumi left the farm with her treat and was quite ready for the last stop of the night.  Tonka’s stop was the last trick or treat event of the night and Lumi had saved it for last on purpose.  It was held in a graveyard at a mausoleum and thought it would be the creepiest the later on in the night.  Lumi was unfortunately starting to regret that decision for after travelling alone for so long she wished someone could enjoy this last stop with her.   Lumi had run into a couple other Tokotas here and there throughout the night but wished for a steady companion now.  She had received many compliments on her costume through the night and was told that she made a lovely unicorn.  Even Dukke, who she had now run into three times, had said as much.  After the farm she ran into him again.

He had just left Tonka’s graveyard with a treat and was triumphantly heading home.  Dukke had also decided to spend the evening alone but Lumi detected a little joy from him every time they crossed paths.  There were many Tokotas running around between stops tonight and some were in large groups and some solo as she had been.  Seeing Dukke three times couldn’t have coincidence though…perhaps he was doing it on purpose. Though Lumi knew the thought of Dukke seeking her out was silly it made her happy none the less.  If not only his mature demeanor Dukke also had a lovely sense of humor and was very humble.  She would look forward to seeing Dukke around Tsula tribe events and maybe get more one on one time with him.  Of course, perhaps Dukke wouldn’t want that but Lumi sensed otherwise; she was pretty sure he continually looked after tonight.  Maybe Dukke was as lonely as Lumi was or maybe not but she was glad for the distraction.

As Lumi continued on her way lost in thought another Tokota appeared.  It was the newest member of their pack, Nilak.  He was attire as a scarecrow with a hat, shirt and makeshift pants on.  Straw was poking out from beneath the clothing and tied on with hay string.  Overall Lumi assumed Nilak would be itchy with all the straw poking him but also reasoned that his shaggy coat offered a decent amount of protection from that.  Nilak was the first Lilac coat Tokota in their pack was very humble about his colors.  He was young in age but more mature than some of his senior packmates and for this Lumi liked him. Nilak walked with Lumi for quite a time and they exchanged stories of their night so far.  He had started at Kuzco, then Tonka and was now heading to Talulla’s cabin.  Lumi decided to share her path and what she had received so far which caused both of them laughter. Nilak looked excited to head to the little toki’s cabin and see what else the little one could give out for the night.  Nilak also seemed tired as Lumi was feeling herself and they decided to part ways figuring it would be fastest to not linger any longer.  Lumi watched Nilak disappear into the would towards the little Talulla’s cabin and was excited to hear what he would receive from her in the morning.

The path towards the graveyard took Lumi to the edge of town.  As she made her way through the streets she marveled at the festivities and decorations.  The little humans might be handicapped in terms of brute strength, speed, dulled senses and fragility but the sure were creative. The bright colors and sounds overloaded Lumi’s senses quickly but she decided to stay a moment and watch the festivities for a moment.  Most of the humans were dressed in outlandish costumes and were partaking of that gross alcoholic drink.  She deduced that some were less affected by the drink then her poor little Thienna was.  Part of her was mad at Thienna for having too much and getting lost but then Lumi was also mad at the Tokotas who lost her.  Lucky she had found Thienna before anything bad had happened.  Thienna wasn’t usually a partaker of such things but on occasion she would and the pack would watch her closely.  Thienna was a responsible little human and that’s just what Lumi liked about her.  Thienna was kind a sweet but in a moment, could become a strong confident leader when needed.  The little human had much potential in Lumi’s mind.  Hopefully when Thienna awoke tomorrow feeling less than par, she would learn from her mistake and be more responsible in the future.

Lumi realized as she walked that she had come to the cemetery sooner than expected.  It was eerily quiet and there was a fine mist cover the ground.  No other Tokotas seemed present either and maybe they had been the smart ones and gotten this part over with first.  A loud screech from behind Lumi gave her the chills and she peered over her shoulder.  It was a white owl not far from her sitting in a tree and it was watching her as she walked past the grave stones.  Lumi was not one who usually became scared at night but something about this setting was enough to raise her hackles.  Lumi once again chastised herself and the smell of wet earth and decay filled her nostrils.  No, next year she would make sure not to do this alone; especially this part.  Perhaps she could convince that handsome Dukke to accompany her.  She smiled at the distractive thought knowing it was working well.

Towards the center of the cemetery was a large and white mausoleum and it was eerily lit with candles giving it a limited glow.  She could see Tonka sitting on the steps in front.  Now he made a good ghost Lumi thought to herself and though she had dires in her pack the whole scene was creeping her out more than expected.  The lighting was limited and did not luminate Tonka well at all.  Of course, this was all set up to be Halloween scary and get Tonka more in the Tokoween spirit but did the really need to go this all out?  The other two hadn’t made Lumi bat and eyelash with fear but this one was having much more of that affect. The closer Lumi came to the mausoleum the higher the fog came off the ground.  By the time she stood in front of Tonka it was at her chest level.  It gave her the willies to think of what lay beneath her eyesight; what little critters might be scurrying around her feet and her not seeing it.  Spiders in particular were no friend of Lumi’s.  Infact she rather despised them and would squish them with vigor if they were around her. She shivered at the thought of any close to her now.

“What’s wrong little unicorn?”  Tonka questioned, “Are you scared of a little fog in a cemetery?” His grin was ominous but friendly. He was obviously enjoying this role rather well.

“Pft…as if this silly show of yours could scare me.” Lumi replied with indignation. Her shiny white horn sat propped on her forehead secured with white rope and her painted golden feet glimmered in the moonlight.  At the start of the night she hadn't appreciated her costume but now embraced it.  She was happy to be attired as a unicorn; besides the fact it accentuated her long flowing mane and tail.

“Well then, come up to the bin and pick out a treat,” he smiled larger than before, “Or maybe it will be a trick!”

Lumi collected her courage and ascended the stairs determined not to be scared.

Lumi never knew how handy that horn could be - until she needed to be "brave" in front of Tonka.
